BC's Capital Raising Index is a curated, monthly-updated list of BC-based ventures that are actively fundraising. Run by New Ventures BC and hosted on Capital Compass BC, the Index is publicly accessible and currently features 78 companies raising at pre-seed, seed, Series A, and beyond.
Founders who join get visibility with local, national, and global investors, promotion across New Ventures BC's network, and introductions to interested investors. It's free to join, and the May edition — timed to Web Summit Vancouver — publishes on May 1. The deadline to submit is April 28.
The Index includes Vancouver-based companies across a range of sectors. Sonus Microsystems, for example, is developing a wearable echocardiogram patch that uses proprietary ultrasound technology and AI to enable remote cardiac monitoring. The device allows patients to apply a patch, upload data to the cloud, and have cardiac parameters analyzed by AI before a healthcare provider reviews the results — reducing the need for hospital visits and trained operators.
In fintech, Binta Financial, founded in 2023 by Paschal Okwundu, is building credit infrastructure for people who move across borders. The Vancouver-based fintech operates as a credit signal translation layer, taking verified financial behaviour from one jurisdiction and delivering it in a standardized format to financial institutions in another. The company won first place in the New Ventures BC Competition in October 2025, taking home $110,000.
For investors, the Index offers a cleaner view of active deal flow in the province. New Ventures BC can facilitate warm introductions to any listed company. Companies have self-reported that they are actively fundraising and have key materials prepared, such as a pitch deck, financials, and data room access. New Ventures BC reviews submissions for completeness but does not conduct formal due diligence on listed companies.
The Index is hosted on Capital Compass BC, a free platform with a broader real-time snapshot of BC's innovation economy, including a database of over 9,000 BC startups, investors, and ecosystem players. More information is available at newventuresbc.com/bc-capital-raising-index.
