The BC Tech Association — the not-for-profit, member-funded trade association — announced this year’s Technology Impact Award winners at its annual gala this week.
"The TIAs recognize the key role of innovation to B.C.’s economy and the ambition that we can harness locally to drive innovation on a global scale," said Rich Osborn, BC Tech's board chair. "The annual gala is a moment for us to come together as an industry to recognize the companies and leaders who have enriched our ecosystem through their innovation and achievements.”

Companies were evaluated across nine categories, each of which highlighted a different aspect of importance to growing B.C.’s tech industry. In a ceremony held at Parq on October 23, each company received its award. Notable this year was the decision not to include the category of “person of the year”; the omission of which is surprising given BC Tech’s launch of its Hall of Fame last year, which spotlights individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the local innovation industry.
The winners are:
Gamechanger ambition: DarkVision
Gamechanger climate leadership: 7Gen
Gamechanger diversity and inclusion: YWCA Metro Vancouver
Company of the year anchor: Jane App
Company of the year scale: Oxygen8
Company of the year growth: Apera AI
Excellency in industry innovation: Triumph
Excellence in company culture: RaceRocks
Company of the year startup: Daanaa
