Vancouver-based Caseway has announced a strategic partnership with MiTAC Advance Technology Corp., a Taiwanese leader in AI infrastructure, edge computing, and mission-critical public safety systems. The two companies plan to jointly develop proof-of-concept solutions targeting some of the most pressing security challenges facing Taiwan and allied nations.

The partnership pairs MiTAC's ruggedized edge computing, smart UAV systems, and defence-grade hardware with Caseway's Synthium platform — a decision intelligence layer designed to fuse multi-source sensor data into explainable, audit-ready outputs while keeping humans in control of consequential decisions.

The joint development will focus on three areas: counter-drone decision support for military installations, airports, ports, and critical infrastructure; maritime domain awareness including vessel detection and movement tracking; and sensor-to-decision workflows designed to compress the time between detection and action.

The problem both companies are addressing is structural. Sensors — radar, electro-optical, acoustic, RF, and satellite — are multiplying faster than the humans who must interpret them. Operators are forced to manually fuse fragmented data under time pressure. Synthium sits above existing sensors as a governed layer, producing a single operating picture without removing humans from the decision loop.

"MiTAC's engineering depth in edge computing and UAV systems, combined with Synthium's explainable decision layer, creates something neither company could deliver alone: complete sensor-to-decision capability that operators can actually trust," said Alex Hu, chief business officer at Caseway.

The companies plan a technical demonstration in Taiwan in the coming weeks, with focused proof-of-concept initiatives to follow. The partnership was formalized following the execution of a non-disclosure agreement between the two companies.
