Canadian non-profit ClimCanada has merged with ClimateDoor, a global climate venture builder, and will now operate as ClimateDoor Impact. The merger brings together two mission-aligned organizations aiming to strengthen support for early-stage climate ventures.

The integration combines ClimCanada’s founder-first programming and international mentor network with ClimateDoor’s commercialization infrastructure and growth expertise. The newly unified platform hopes to reduce early-stage barriers for climate startups and help scale promising solutions.

“This merger means our programs are stronger, our impact deeper – and now, we get to build this together,” said Sam Kullar, founder of ClimCanada. Kullar will lead ClimateDoor Impact as Executive Director and also serve as Head of Portfolio Growth at ClimateDoor, supporting companies through key stages of funding and partnership development.

Key aspects of the merger include: More than 135 mentors joining the ClimateDoor ecosystem; continued collaboration with Climate-KIC, Europe’s leading climate innovation agency; and climateDoor’s leadership team joining the board of directors at ClimateDoor Impact.

“Building a not-for-profit with no cash and no safety net was the hardest thing I’ve ever done,” said Kullar. “I kept going because I believed in the mission.”

Chad Rickaby, CEO of ClimateDoor, said the merger underscores a shared goal of helping climate ventures grow: “Sam brings a rare mix of founder empathy, operational rigour, and global perspective. With ClimateDoor Impact, we’re reinforcing our commitment to ensuring high-impact solutions overcome early-stage barriers and reach commercialization at scale.”

ClimateDoor Impact intends to build on ClimCanada’s record, which includes generating $2 million in startup sales, securing $1 million in fundraising, and developing a global network of over 130 mentors. ClimateDoor has supported more than 75 companies, helped raise over $71 million in venture capital, and unlocked $17 million in grants.

Together, the organizations hope to accelerate the next generation of climate innovation through a platform rooted in global collaboration, strategic capital deployment, and operational support.
