Cymax Group, an e-commerce tech and logistics services platform for furniture vendors and retailers, announced Markus Frind as its new CEO today.

The news comes at a momentous time for the company, which is celebrating 20 years of innovation and expanding its focus on generative AI.

Frind, 44, steps into the role after former CEO Rizwan Somji stepped down in November after five years at the helm.

The Vancouver-based founder of Plenty of Fish, a leading dating site turned global phenomenon acquired for half a billion by Match.com, Frind first became part of Cymax in 2015 during their USD $25 million Series A round. He also joined the company’s board at that time.

“I’m excited about the opportunities ahead of us,” said Frind. “I have a lot of ideas on how we can infuse and inject technology and AI to continue to drive growth.”

Widely known as a tech thought leader and investor, Frind is also the CEO and proprietor of the award-winning Frind Estate Winery in West Kelowna —where he combines his passions for tech and agriculture.
