New Ventures BC’s annual competition heated up today with the announcement of which companies have been selected to move forward to the next stage.

The 23rd annual contest, presented by Innovate BC, received 178 submissions to enter round two. A panel of 105 judges evaluated those applications, and decided which will be advancing to round three.

From the pool, 16 ventures have been selected to move forward directly to that next stage. Twenty seven more companies have been placed into a separate category – round 2.5. Those teams will pitch on June 20 for a chance to advance to round three, with the top nine ventures going through. The top 25 teams will then be announced in late June.
