Vancouver entrepreneurs to headline SAAS NORTH in Ottawa next month
Canada's top software companies such as Jane App, Launchpad Technologies, and SafetyDocs Global are descending on Ottawa on November 16-17, 2022.
Canada’s most highly anticipated Software as a Service (SaaS) community event, SAAS NORTH, is back in Ottawa and the Shaw Centre from November 16-17, 2022. The conference, which is presented by National Bank, produced by Cube Business Media Inc., and co-founded with Kanata-based L-Spark Accelerator, is expecting over 2,000 attendees and over 800 companies at the two-day festival. Early Bird ticket sales close Thursday, October 13th.
First-time SAAS NORTH attendees can expect to experience Canada’s fastest-growing SaaS companies gathering, networking, and growing together. This unique conference enables cross-pollination in the Canadian ecosystem.
Last year, close to 1,000 attendees joined the conference for keynotes and investor meetings. This year, the organizers are expecting an even greater turnout.
“SAAS NORTH 2022 attendees will be able to glean invaluable advice from founders who have weathered similar market conditions to what we’re seeing now. This kind of knowledge transfer, from founder to founder, is what the event is all about,” said David Tyldesley, the co-founder of SAAS NORTH and Cube Business Media Inc. “We have the most diverse roster of speakers ever at SAAS NORTH this year, and we are proud of the voices we are showcasing, all of whom are experts in their fields,” he added.
The full program for the conference has been released and features leaders from prominent Canadian SaaS organizations. Presenters this year include Alison Taylor of Jane, Allen Lau of Wattpad, Jeff Shiner of 1Password, Mike Wessinger of PointClickCare, and more.
The two-day conference, which is known for its scale and founder-heavy audience, will showcase exciting presentations and interactive opportunities that foster participation. This year’s features include:
The Firehood Angel Camp: Savvy angel investors from The Firehood, a movement that focuses on opportunities for women in the tech industry, will be onsite at this year’s conference. Each of The Firehood’s attending angels have pre-committed capital to be deployed at SAAS NORTH. All woman entrepreneurs registered are welcome to pitch the angels at the conference’s Firehood Angel Camp, which is presented by Fasken, in partnership with MaRS.
AWS Pitchfest: Sponsored by Amazon Web Services (AWS) and co-sponsored by National Bank and Stratford Intellectual Property, the annual live AWS Pitchfest will feature eight finalists who have been selected by expert judges to pitch live at SAAS NORTH. A winner from day one and day two each will be selected, culminating in an exciting grand finale at the end of the conference. The two winners will compete in a winner-takes-all rapid pitch-off where a $10,000 cash prize and up to $115,000 in cloud credits and Intellectual Property support services provided by AWS and Stratford Intellectual Property will be awarded.
