Startups set to compete for $250,000 in cash and prizes in the New Ventures BC Competition

200+ competitors, six months, four rounds of competition, and one grand prize winner.

Born during the dot-com boom in 2000, the New Ventures BC Competition, presented by Innovate BC, is still going strong almost a quarter-century later.

Competitors from across B.C.

Startups from all walks of tech have taken home prizes at the New Ventures BC competition. In 2022 alone, winners included agritech leader Semios, B2B SaaS company Yield Exchange, and Shopify app developer Beam.

Four rounds of competition

Between now and September, startups will battle it out in four rounds of competition the initial project submission, a feasibility test, a pitch, and a condensed venture plan.

Months of hard work will culminate in a final in-person pitch to a jury of industry leaders before the winners are announced on October 3 at the New Ventures BC Competition Awards Ceremony.
