Tech meets purpose at Vancouver’s Cloud Summit 2025

Talks, networking, and charity combine at what claims to be Canada’s biggest multi-cloud event.

Vancouver will host Cloud Summit 2025, Western Canada’s largest multi-cloud tech event, on May 27 at the Orpheum Theatre. The summit aims to offer developers, engineers, and tech leaders an opportunity to expand their cloud computing expertise, engage with industry peers, and explore emerging trends.

Matt Billmann, CEO and co-founder of Netlify, will headline the event. Netlify was born in 2014 when Billmann and co-founder Christian Bach set out to build a faster, simpler, and safer web. The company describes itself as “the platform of choice for running modern composable web applications in production.”

The summit’s agenda includes sessions covering AI agent development without frameworks, deploying generative AI using serverless infrastructure, hands-on AWS workshops, and strategies for scaling startups in the cloud. Besides the technical content, attendees can expect live music and an AI-powered DJ to add a social element to the day.

Cloud Summit 2025 also includes a philanthropic effort, aiming to raise $10,000 for the Union Gospel Mission, a Vancouver-based charity supporting people experiencing poverty, homelessness, and addiction.

Event organizer Matt Carolan emphasized the event’s collaborative spirit: “This event is about bringing people together to learn, connect, and give back. Whether you're a developer, architect, or founder — you’ll walk away with ideas you can use right away.”
