Hey Insiders,
Busy week. Two tech events and one that matters for anyone building a company in this city. Here’s where to be.
Straight Talks: Vancouver Before the Vote
Tuesday, Oct 13 · 1–3 PM · AND-CO Offices
Vancouver votes October 17. Four days out, our sister publication the Georgia Straight is bringing the city’s future on stage.
It opens with a panel on whether people can still afford to live, work, and create here: Jane Talbot (Downtown Van), Ian Tostenson (BC Restaurant and Foodservices Association), and Max Mitchell (BOOM! Pro Wrestling). Then Straight EIC Nathan Caddell sits down one-on-one with Mayor Ken Sim to talk about his four-year record on housing, public safety, the budget, and the 2022 promises.
If you’re hiring, raising, or leasing space in Vancouver, the next council affects you. This is the last room before the vote where the mayor answers hard questions in public
