Veritree raises $6.5M to expand verified nature restoration platform

Nature tech startup backed by Pender Ventures, Garage Capital, Northside Ventures, and Diagram.

veritree, a Vancouver-based climate technology company focused on verified nature restoration, has announced the close of its $6.5 million USD Series A funding round. The round was led by Pender Ventures, with participation from Garage Capital, Northside Ventures, and Diagram.

The company has built what it calls a “Restorative Operating System” — a digital platform that validates, monitors, and analyzes tree planting and ecological restoration projects around the world. veritree says the new funding will accelerate the rollout of its AI-powered monitoring features, expand its work to ecosystems in South America and Asia, and enhance its platform’s data collection and reporting capabilities.

“veritree is solving one of climate tech’s biggest blind spots—trust in nature-based solutions,” said Isaac Souweine, Partner at Pender Ventures. “Its platform brings accountability to a space that’s long needed it, and they’ve assembled an exceptional team to scale the business. We see veritree not only as a category leader but as the foundation for a more reliable and scalable nature economy.”

Originally developed in-house at tentree, a sustainable apparel brand that plants a tree for every product sold, veritree was spun out in 2022 to become a standalone company. After Samsung licensed its software and referenced it in a press release, demand for the platform surged. Today, veritree supports nearly 300 corporate partners, including AliExpress, Hopper, and Bunq.

The platform integrates tools like bioacoustic monitors, which use microphones to track bird populations and assess ecosystem health, as well as a mobile app that guides field teams through data collection in remote areas. A social impact dashboard also measures how restoration efforts benefit local communities, including indicators such as job creation, access to education, and gender equity.

In just two years, veritree says it has grown over 450%, helping organizations link their environmental commitments to measurable, verified results. The company aims to plant one billion trees by 2030 and sees its platform as a critical infrastructure layer for the emerging “nature economy.”

The Series A funding comes at a time when corporate interest in nature-based solutions is rising, but many organizations still lack tools to verify their impact. By addressing this gap, veritree hopes to unlock greater investment and trust in global restoration efforts.
