And with that, it’s already December.
This year has seen a number of milestones for Vancouver companies. Copperleaf, of course, sold to IFS in a much-lauded deal worth $1 billion. Two Vancouver impact investors teamed up to the tune of $110 million. General Fusion did what General Fusion does, and secured another $20 million. But 2024 saw a lot more happening in the ecosystem than just the big-money headlines.
We’ve put together a list of the most important funding and deals for Vancouver over the past year, which, significantly, aren’t necessarily the biggest investments by deal size (though we’ve added those too). Instead of prioritizing the dollar amount, the roster spotlights stories of cash flowing into a new or emerging niche into the city, local VCs closing significant funds, and strategic investments you’ve probably missed.
So put your feet up, sip your hot chocolate by the roaring fire, and reminisce with us on the year that was.
