Alicia Taggio shares how she ended up at the company and what they’re looking for in growing their team
Welcome to Vancouver Tech Journal’s series on how to land a job at a Vancouver company, where we look at the people behind them, how they got to where they are today, opportunities available — and key things to know if you’re job hunting!
Meet Alicia Taggio, director of customer success at Tradable Bits and previously the customer marketing manager at Hootsuite. With extensive experience in digital marketing, Taggio draws on her specialty of helping brands connect with their audience and harness leads and sales in the process to further drive Tradable Bits’ growth — working alongside entertainment giants like Ticketmaster, Live Nation, and teams in the NBA, NFL, and NHL.
Tell us about Tradable Bits?
Tradable Bits is a customer data platform that helps companies in the sports, music, and entertainment industries engage with their fans, capture first-party data, and craft sophisticated marketing campaigns with data-backed decisions. Our main users are marketers who are looking to grow their fan database and drive revenue while saving money and time.

How many employees?
Over 60.
Where are you headquartered?
Vancouver, B.C.
Has the company raised money?
No, we haven’t raised any outside capital.
What does growth look like over the next couple years?
We’re currently looking to expand our operations in Europe and the APAC region while also continuing to grow our team here in Vancouver and Victoria, B.C.
How does Tradable Bits differentiate itself?
Although we’re a SaaS company, we operate slightly differently in that we also offer professional services to help our partners make the most of their fan data. Whether it’s helping to manage their digital ad campaigns, or providing data analysis and reporting; we pride ourselves on helping our partners make better decisions with data so their dollar goes further.
On the customer success team, for example, we only hire individuals with specific experience in the sports, music, and entertainment industries while also having tech and/or marketing backgrounds. It’s a very niche role, so we make sure to take the time to find the right people who not only add value, but want to be part of building for the future of fan marketing.
How did you end up at Tradable Bits?
I actually used to be a customer of Tradable Bits in one of my previous roles and built a good relationship with their team over the years — helping them beta test new ideas and improving the product. When the opportunity came up to join the team, I didn’t hesitate to apply. I’ve always enjoyed their innovative and agile company culture and knew I could add some value from my previous work experiences.

As the director of customer success, what do you do day-to-day?
I lead the customer success team globally; helping them maximize customer value and build trusted relationships with our partners in the sports, music and entertainment space. As a startup going through hypergrowth, I work closely with senior leadership to drive growth and scale our operations globally.
A typical day for me usually involves working with sales to help close or onboard a new partner, supporting our customer success team with any roadblocks, and using various tools we have in place to measure customer support, revenue, and overall activity of the team to better identify and drive operational efficiencies.
How long have you been with Tradable Bits?
Five years.
How can someone join the team?
They can check out our job openings. From co-op internships to full-time roles, we’re always looking to grow the team with people who are passionate about fan marketing and innovating in this space.
What does the company value most?
Our core values are based on trust, flexibility, education, innovation, and teamwork. We’re learning together alongside our partners through constant experimentation and improvement.
Although it may seem like we have a crystal ball of fan-based marketing; the truth is, together with our partners, we're deciding where the industry is going and building the necessary tech together.

Macs or PCs?
I’m definitely a Mac user, and most of the organization is, but our development team leans more towards PCs.
What tools and apps are used in the workplace?
We use GSuite, Hubspot, Gong, Slack, Pandadoc, Open Project, and BambooHR as our main tools, and have built some of our own custom tools and reports in-house.
Does the team predominantly work remotely or in person?
While we do have a hybrid work environment, 75% of our organization works from one of our offices in Vancouver, Victoria, or Melbourne, and the remaining 25% are fully remote.
What perks and benefits should people know about?
We’re fortunate to work with partners in the sports, music, and entertainment space which means we get access to a lot of great events ourselves. From attending sports games, to comedy shows, live concerts, and music festivals; there’s certainly no shortage of entertainment for our employees to experience.
In addition to that, our internal team is also made up of passionate experts in their fields. As a small but growing organization, our team is talented, nimble, and approachable. Everyone, regardless of title or department, has access to learn from and work directly with our co-founders, executive leads, and technical wizards.
