The lip synching app turned most popular social media platform, TikTok, is hiring for a bunch of roles in Vancouver — from tech lead to product manager, research intern, and more. At the moment, there remains over 20 openings in Vancouver — a lot more than the only other Canadian city it’s hiring in, Toronto.
So, what do these opportunities mean for Vancouver? Having acquired more than 1 billion users and hitting USD $10 billion in consumer spending, TikTok’s growing presence in the city is bound to do a few things: highlight, attract, and retain our top tech talent — especially considering the first role on the list ranges between CAD $148,960 to $333,000 annually.
It’s worthwhile to consider joining TikTok’s team beyond the pay and perks like potentially making a mark in an ever-growing company. The addictive app is now growing into new markets including news as many young people use the app as a news source. The company is also working on expanding its in-app e-commerce to USD $17.5 billion this year.
